How to be a good parent? To be a good parent, three general principles need to be followed. These principles include: Consistency, Positivity and Admiration. A good parent is expected to be consistent in his approach. Volatile nature of parents shall confuse the child. This can result in delayed development. Communication between parents and children should be positive. Reasoning decisions, listening to the child’s views and a polite response is must. Children must be allowed to express their thoughts. Good parents must convey do’s and don’ts in a reasonable way. Parents need to spend quality time with children. Applauding the child for his good works will encourage him to continue them. Catching them doing good is a very efficient way. For example, acknowledging the child as he washes his hands before eating or shares his toys with his friends/siblings will make him/her understand that these things are needed to be done repeatedly. Assimilating these three points will ensure a good parenting. We, at Ira parenting, will be regularly assisting you with our blogs and other activities to help you be one.
