Tongue Twisters in Hindi: Structure of Hindi Language
Hindi evolved from Sanskrit and is written in the Devanagari script. Having its roots in Sanskrit, it has inherited a lot of the phonetic goodness of Sanskrit. A lot of credit must also be given to the Devanagari script. There is very little or almost no discrepancy between written text and pronunciation. Hindi, in other words, is entirely phonetic and each letter represents a syllable. Indeed, most Indian languages are highly phonetic in nature.

Therefore, it is not surprising that compared to English, the Hindi language is easier to learn. For example words ‘cat’ and ‘city’, these both start with the letter ‘c’, but they start with different sounds! Cat starts with a ‘k’ sound and city starts with a ’s’ sound, which can be confusing. However, in Hindi, every letter always has the same pronunciation.
